The primary objective for this study was to
determine the leading restaurant chains in four distinct categories of
drive-thru operation as well as to determine the overall “Best Drive-Thru in
America”. Four specific categories of drive-thru operation were measured. The
two primary categories were “Speed” and “Accuracy”. “Menuboard Appearance” and
“Speaker Clarity” were considered secondary categories. The study was conducted between April 15, 2005 and July 21, 2005. Restaurants were visited between the lunch hours of 11:00 AM and 2:30 PM and between the dinner hours of 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM. A restaurant could only be visited twice – once during the lunch period and again during the dinner period. A total of 10,693 time studies were completed and included assessments from restaurants in all 50 states. The actual studies were conducted by 89 market researchers. No temporary service or other type of outside labor source was used. The study included 25 quick serve restaurant chains. |
